Solder Technician

Employment Solutions is seeking a skilled Solder Technician to perform fine, precision soldering primarily focused on Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) components for our Client in Wallingford. This role involves working with very small parts under magnification and requires excellent attention to detail.

Employment Type: Temp - Hire
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm
Pay: $18+ (DOE)

Key Responsibilities

• Hand-solder SMT components such as 0603/0402 resistors, capacitors, QFN/DFN ICs, and similar parts.
• Use microscopes, tweezers, soldering irons, and hot-air tools for placement, soldering, and rework.
• Inspect solder joints and ensure all work meets quality standards.
• Follow detailed instructions, diagrams, and ESD procedures.

About the Work (SMT)

• Components are soldered directly to the board surface—no through-hole work.
• Parts have small metal pads and require precision handling.
• SMT allows compact, high-density circuits but can be more challenging to hand-solder due to size.

Qualifications

• Experience with fine/SMT soldering.
• Strong manual dexterity and ability to work under a microscope.
• Familiarity with ESD and electronics manufacturing environments.
• HS Diploma
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English
