Production Supervisor

Employment Solutions is hiring for our client for an experienced Production Supervisor to join their team in Farmington, CT.

Employment Type: Direct Hire
Salary: $60,000–$80,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience

Position Summary

The Production Supervisor will be an integral part of the production team and will be responsible for ensuring that safety, quality, productivity, and customer service objectives are consistently achieved.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, supervise, direct, discipline, audit, and coordinate production employees in a team environment.
• Ensure the safe operation of personnel and production equipment.
• Monitor production quality and make process adjustments as needed to meet customer specifications.
• Operate and understand extrusion lines, including single-screw and twin-screw extruders.
• Understand extrusion line subsystems, including pumps, blowers, pelletizers, temperature controllers, and related equipment.
• Remain calm and effective in stressful situations while managing multiple priorities.
• Respond appropriately to production issues and unexpected situations.
• Act as a direct liaison between operations leadership and production operators.
• Support and enforce plant and corporate policies.
• Work effectively under deadlines and accommodate a flexible workload.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and write professional reports.
• Ability to perform arithmetic and algebra consistent with a high school education.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to use hand tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Extrusion experience strongly preferred.
• Twin-screw extruder experience is a plus.
• Forklift operation experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
