Director of Business Development
Job Type: Full Time
Compensation: $65,000 – $100,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)
Position Overview
Rather than focusing on a single business unit, the Director of Business Development provides strategic direction for sales and marketing efforts organization?wide and works closely with executive leadership on long?range planning.
This position requires a leader who can balance growth ambitions with operational capacity, and ensure that expansion aligns with company values and culture. The ideal candidate can bring structure to growth efforts while maintaining flexibility across a diverse group of businesses.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Growth & Planning
- Collaborate with ownership and executive leadership to develop and execute long?term (3–5 year) growth strategies
- Assess potential opportunities across all companies, considering cultural fit, operational readiness, and long?term value
- Support leadership in determining growth priorities and identifying opportunities that should not be pursued
Sales & Marketing Leadership
- Provide direction and oversight for sales and marketing initiatives across multiple organizations
- Align branding, messaging, and market positioning while allowing each company to retain its unique identity
- Assist with high level or complex opportunities that span multiple businesses or require executive involvement
Leadership & Organizational Alignment
- Promote consistent leadership standards, ethical decision making, and accountability across teams
- Act as a liaison between operating companies, leadership, and commercial teams to improve communication and alignment
- Support the development of leaders and teams who represent company values internally and externally
- Encourage collaboration and shared learning across the organization

- Sales and marketing efforts are measurable, coordinated, and effective
- Strong collaboration exists between leadership, operations, and commercial teams

Qualifications
- Proven experience in business development, sales leadership, or strategic growth roles
- Experience working with multicompany or multi?division organizations preferred
- Strong strategic thinking, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to balance growth opportunities with operational and cultural considerations
