Bridge Mill / VTL - Machine Operator
Pay: $18-24
Overview:
We are hiring an experienced Bridge Mill/VTL Machine Operator to operate large-scale CNC equipment used for machining heavy and complex components. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in large-part machining and precision manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate bridge mills (gantry mills) and vertical turning lathes (VTLs)
- Load and position large materials using cranes or forklifts
- ???????Monitor cutting conditions, spindle load, chip flow and coolant levels
- Install tooling, set offsets, and prepare machines for operation
- Run CNC programs and monitor machining performance
- Adjust speeds, feeds, and offsets as needed
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
- Use precision measuring instruments for large components
- ???????height gauges, bore gauges, large calipers
- Change tooling and assist with program adjustments
- ???????Follow all safety procedures and maintain equipment
Qualifications:

Experience with large-part machining

Ability to read complex blueprints and GD&T

Familiarity with G-code and CNC controls (Fanuc, Siemens, Mazak, etc.)

Understanding of machining processes and materials

Crane/rigging experience preferred

Strong attention to detail and safety
Preferred Certifications:

NIMS or machining certifications

OSHA 10/30

Forklift or overhead crane certification
