Maintenance Mechanic – 2nd Shift
Location: Northchase Area – Wilmington, NC
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM
Pay: Starting at $23/hr (based on experience)

Employment Solutions is hiring an experienced Maintenance Mechanic for a large, fast-paced manufacturing facility in the Northchase area of Wilmington. This is a full-time, 2nd shift position with opportunities for growth and training in a supportive work environment.

Important: This role requires recent, hands-on maintenance experience within a manufacturing or industrial production environment. Candidates without direct manufacturing maintenance experience will not be considered.


Position Summary:

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. This role is highly hands-on and best suited for individuals who have worked directly on production equipment in a manufacturing setting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair production machinery and facility systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing)
  • Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues, including motors, controls, and circuits
  • Install and maintain plumbing systems, fixtures, and valves
  • Work closely with production teams to keep manufacturing lines running efficiently
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, following all safety protocols

Requirements:

  • Required: Proven maintenance experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills on production equipment
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics
  • Reliable transportation (strict attendance and punctuality required)
  • Steel/composite-toed boots required
